Getting into chess

After watching “The Queen’s Gambit”, I got interested in chess again. I played a little bit when I was a kid, but never much or in any serious fashion. And so, recently, I created an account on Lichess.org.

I went through some of their training and also played a few rounds against the computer. I was surprised I wasn’t complete shit. But there’s lots to learn, of course. And it seems like “Stockfish Level 3” is the computer’s difficulty level that I have the ability to play: giving me enough challenges without losing all the time.

It still takes me a long time to figure out the good moves, though. And I make lots of mistakes. But it’s fun and quite addictive. If you want, challenge me on Lichess!

Here are a few GIFs of my recent games:

Lost this one. Was way too careless in the beginning, and I got punished for that.
A win. This went really well, I think.
A really stupid stalemate in a game I should have easily won. The computer probably fooled me with what felt like one of the oldest tricks in the book.
